Some friends of mine have their teenage cousins in town for a week of "uh...riding the park dude", they brought their bmx bikes and plan to just ride parks all week. In the spirit of thinking I'm - you know, young - I mention that I'm going to a show that night - Broken Social Scene - and wonder if they want to go. I play them a few tunes and grasp- with the help of some blank stares - that you never realize how mellow your music is until you play it in front of a couple of teenagers.
They opted out of the show.
Interesting how when those moments in life that you've dreaded arrive - "I'll never buy clothes at Kmart" for example, it just doesn't matter anymore. Phew, because it was a good show - and I like my Kmart jeans....
I've been a bit remiss. Haven't kept up with the shows I've seen. Quick recap for the last couple of weeks: Nebula, Super Furry Animals, The Black Keys, and last night The Sounds.
Take a look at the pictures from last night...the flash can make you do that sometimes, you know, close your eyes...
