Oh yeah baby, it's back!! Phone pix here we come! Thanks Sean!
I love it when I see a tiny petite girl, alone in her car, get super mad at a traffic situation. Pumping her fists and screwing up her face. Something about the giant size intensity over something like that is just...well...fascinating.

Caught the end of Hot Hot Heat at the Ogden last night (that batman movie was LONG). OK, so JP thinks their live show is boring, and yes, the singer kind of has the same moves over and over, but still, I think they're a fun band. Good show energy in my opinion. Just plain fun.
I wonder how Jared Leto fared at the bluebird with 30 seconds to mars - anyone see that?
And yes, batman was good.
Are we still defined by that gradeschool essay question, "what did you do last summer"? I think this as I run around the park and overhear snippets of, "we're going camping next week and we just got back from Paris" or when I think of my friends spending a week in Yosemite, then off to Puerto Vallarta. Or my friends that'll spend the summer in their backyard pool or out on the lake in their boat.
How am I going to spend my summer? Smoky bars listening to music that adds another "what?" into all my conversations as my ears give up the fight? Inhaling 100 year old dust as I tear down that dumb ceiling I should have torn down last summer? What do I want my essay to be like in the fall?
And you? What are you doing this summer?
Futureheads on Monday. It was like the nerdy hipster underbelly gathered. All the pretty hipsters were at Rilo Kiley I guess. Not sure I was in the mood for the show. Bright lights though. Complete with warning. They had energy and were having fun though - and that's key.
Then Spoon...a really solid band for sure. Packed crowd, with some die-hard spoon fans. I mean die hard. Every word singing along, almost crying after each song die hard (was that you spanish eddie??). They're good, just not exciting - you know?
Tomorrow night Heartless Bastards at the beckman's recommendation...should be interesting...
The bloc party show was a good time, they're still young and into it which is cool. And, it made me like the cd better, which is always a plus.
Melt Banana was...hmmm...well...cultish I guess. And tons of fun. Missed most of the show due to some rare "start early" issue at the larimer (guess that all ages weeknight thing) but the crowd was intense, the band was intense and the music was...yeah, same thing.
I totally spaced the mike doughty show for some reason, no idea what happened there, missed the Neko Case show because I was road trippin' in California (where I missed Out Hud in SF b/c it was sold out!!). I guess next show is the futureheads on Monday...unless something comes up before then.... And you?
