My Uncle on Women:

My dad on his attraction to women and general horniness (if such a word can be used to describe one's 71 year old father):
"I'm not below average, I can tell you that!"

My Aunt when she was tired of the conversation:
"My, it's a beautiful day"

My dad when he's tired of one:
"So this one Far Side has these two deer..."

My dad on what to do to misbehaving children:
"whomp 'em!"
If they keep crying?

Old Tales

Spending 2 weeks driving to and around Alaska with my dad & uncle my brother and I were treated to some high humor. But, before I share these gems, let me start by saying this - also heard frequently in that time:

"Sometimes wisdom comes with age, sometimes age comes alone"

OK. You asked for it. (didncha?)

"Grandpa, can you make a sound like a frog?"
"I suppose I can, why's that?"
"well, cuz dad says when you croak we get to go to disneyland!"

2 blondes in LA were chatting, "which do you think is farther away, Florida or the moon?" "ha, you dummy" the other replies, "you can see the moon from here!"

Typical scene at any meal along the trip:

waitress: "here's your meal sir"

My Uncle: "Hey thanks! Did you know you're the best waitress we've had for (insert meal here) all day?"

My Dad: "hey, did you hear the one about..."

Alaska Bound

I'm on route to Alaska, in Prince George, British Columbia. Started the drive from Seattle on Friday night. It's been an amazing trip so far, Banff & Jasper national parks are incredible. Hopefully, when I get to AK I'll be able to post pictures.

And no, no bear sightings yet.

Telluride Film Fest

I should write a long post about the wknd and all the great movies I saw, but I probably *should* do a lot of things.

I would recommend, however, The Presidents Last Bang and Conversations with Other Women.
